Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. One of her first TV appearances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played her role. Fearing stress, her parents didn't want to see the actress pursue acting until she reached the age of 18. Perry was shy in high-school and was not a performer. She began acting at Northwestern University to gain friends after she was transferred from Boston University. Following her graduation, Perry relocated into New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles in series like Law & Order: Criminal Intent However, she was stricken by homelessness and brought her back to California and she was able to find theatre jobs. She performed on Broadway in The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. In 2015, she performed with her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Anna Christie on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry played a lead role in nine episodes in 2016 of the ABC drama The Family. Her father played her character in The ABC show Scandal. The actress also portrayed the older Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon - an CBS spin-off of The Big Bang Theory. Despite having a family connection to the character she received the role through an audition.
