Tina and Amanda
Tina Louise is a popular American singer, writer and actress, best known for her character Ginger Grant in the 1960s TV show Gilligan's Island. Her acting career began in stage shows during the 1950s, beginning with Two's Company a musical by Bettle Davis. After that, she acted on Broadway in various shows until the year 1957, when Li'l Abner made it big in the National Theatre. Her first album, titled It's Time to Tina during the same year. Louise began her Hollywood career in the year 1958 when she played Griselda Walden in God's Little Acre a dramatic film. It was an enormous hit and Louise was awarded her the Golden Globe Award for the New Star of the Years category. During this time she attended the Actors Studio of New York. Lee Strasberg was her tutor. The year 1964 saw her signing with CBS and portrayed Ginger Grant. Louise Balfour continued to successfully play between Broadway and Hollywood portraying somber character as opposed her perceived image as a glamorous doll. Amanda Tapping..........................Amanda Tapping is best known for her acting roles as Samantha Carter in the series Stargate. SG-1, and Helen Magnus on Sanctuary. In recent years Tapping has also emerged as a popular director for well-known television series such as Supernatural and The 100. Born in Essex on August 28th 1965 and her family moved to Toronto when she was just three where she subsequently spent her childhood and adolescence. Samantha Carter was chosen in 1997 to play the role and she has settled down there ever since.
