Luciana Paoluzzi as well as Maria Rota Paoluzzi were raised in Rome. Luciana Paoluzzi is the child of Manlio Paoluzzi (an Italian military officer) and Maria Rota Paoluzzi (a mistress to Benito Mussolini). It's not clear if she has any siblings. She attended a local high school and upon graduation in 1955, she enrolled in naval engineering at the Scientific Academy of Milan - Luciana was the only woman in her class. Luciana started out as a fashion model after just two years. The direction of her career was changed afterward, as by luck, she was offered her first role on screen in Three Coins in the Fountain. Her first marriage was with Brett Halsey who is also an actor. In 1960, they married and produced the film Return to the Peyton Palace. The couple had the birth of a son called Charles born on June 13, 1961. They divorced just a year after the birth of Charles and Luciana was given custody. Luciana was in a relationship with Tony Athony from 1962 and 1970. He was an actor and producer who was influenced by her character to write and direct The Spaghetti Western hybrid based on her role in the movie Green Slime.
